Presenting at Greenbuild 2009

The Greenbuild International Conference & Expo sets its educational program through an open call for proposals. The call typically opens during the conference and closes the second week in January. The submittal details are announced on this site and in email blasts to USGBC members.

Educational sessions for the 2009 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo in Phoenix, AZ are chosen by the procedures outlined below:

  • Nov. 21-Jan. 16 - USGBC accepts proposals for educational sessions online.

  • Feb. 2-Feb. 25 - All complete submissions are reviewed and scored on a set of five different criteria areas. Each abstract is reviewed by a minimum of 7 reviewers.

  • March 9-March 27 - Topic experts are asked to identify the strongest sessions from among the top-rated proposals in each of 30 subject areas.

  • April 6-24 - The Greenbuild Program Committee reviews the top rated sessions and sets the schedule for the 2008 Greenbuild Educational Program.

  • May 4 - Speakers are notified of the final decision on their proposal.

  • May 22 - Deadline for all accepted sessions to commit to the conference.
  • Mid June 2009 - The Greenbuild 2009 Program is posted online.
